Gents,
The concern is not about exhausts and window placement - that went away in 2006 with the old ADR. However, the road traffic regulation won't let you have an exhaust exit on the left (go figure... I know of several mass produced cars that do). You can however apply for an exemption to this rule - how to apply is covered in the regulation itself.
