Oh yeah I forgot the reason that a BB sound different from a SB is bore size,valve size, and exhaust port size,which in a BB is generally bigger. Like with fire arms say you take an AR15 which is a hyper velocity 22.cal, small exit port and you get a loud CRACK. Now take a say30 06 cal. close in velocity but a larger exit port and you get a loud BOOM.Drive train noise can also be a slight factor like in a 426 Hemi you get a lot of rattle and ping on top of combustion noise.
