I have had a 427 W CODE Cougar GT-E which is a hydraulic lifter 1968 side oiler with headers, camshaft with less than .500 lift and a few minor mods.

That was when I was in high school and early college. I remember it was at least as quick as most 428CJ Mustangs. With open headers, it did sound good. Probably better after all, that was 40 years ago.

Maybe next time, I will get an Iron Bock monster FE but the 427 Windsor is fine.
