I have a Mallory 7970404 distributor.

Cap is $50 and rotor $38.

MSD cap, rotor, and mount Kit is $38.

The difference I see is the Ford parts clamp on and the Mallory screw on. Looks like the mount for the clamp on is a bit taller than the screw on mount.

So will regular Ford parts fit on the Mallory distributor?

Call me cheap if you want to, but this Mallory stuff turned to crap in 6K miles, so why would I want to pay an extra $50 for the privilege? I doubt it is any better than MSD or Accel.
