Default O2 sensor oil contaminated - Problem?

418 SB, Mass Flo EFI.

I lost the passenger side intake gasket and pumped a couple of quarts of oil through that bank before I could get it home. I suspect I have really coated the o2 sensor on that side. After repairs, codes are reporting a lean condition on that side now (which I suppose will make the ECM increase the pulse width of the injectors to richen up the mixture).

Could this just be a baldy contaminated o2 sensor that needs replacing?

I guess what I'm really asking is can an o2 sensor get oil contaminated enough to cause it to malfunction or fail? Maybe the metal additives in the oil?

Dumb question but I don't really know the answer.
