My cammer is 11:1 and it runs on pump gas. I can tell you that the chamber size is 125cc. As for the pistons that depends on the manufacturer and specification. The reace gas gives you the extra power and in most cases you don't really need it. Perhaps Bill is using a thinner head gasket. In terms of timing the cams, that is a tricky thing to play around with. Jim Barillaro is the engine builder who machined and put mine together. He has been building these engines since 1969 and is very respected. He would be the one to ask about altering the timing of the cams. I am no expert in this realm. Butch Engelbrecht was the guy who helped Bill Malone with the initial machining problems. Bill ended up working out those kinks and others with some great people after he stopped working with Engelbrecht.
