MHA-thanks for the clarification and specs. I'm amazed they're 125cc chambers-my MR heads had 2.250" valves also but the chamber was tiny by comparison-78cc and 10.33:1 with a flat piston.
I should clarify, I meant ignition timing, not the cams. Putting the cams in + or - 4 degrees would not alter the octane requirement-just move the powerband up or down.
Kanuck-no harm, there's lots of mystery numbers floating around FE land.
Anyone seen hyde or hair of Malone??
