Hi Tom, I have looked at Weller's, and I've had their large pistol type iron for many,....years. It's worked great, but I'm wanting something newer and smaller. A friend that is a mechanic recommended a separate iron and torch, rather than a combo unit. Says it's actually more convenient and works better. That way you don't have to change the adapters from using the iron to the torch for like etc. But,.... I don't use them everyday like he does, so I don't know between the combo or separate unit. I hate buying something and return it because something else,.....would have been better ! lol

What do you think ?

I do like the Eastwood that has a viewable level, retractable roll-proof stand and battery-free piezoelectric ignition, built-in, 360° regulator allows use at any angle.

This is their separate torch-

Here's some others I'm looking into. I've read that people are very happy with the Blazer below.

Blazer BLZSI-1000 3-in-1 Soldering, Hot Air Torch Kit with 5 Tips | Propane/Butane Mini-Torch, Soldering

Power Probe-

Power Probe, Weller and Eastwood have a nice stand on the case-
