Good question ...

In my case I went for the FIA based on the looks, not the performance. With the different Cobra manufacturers, suspension setups & motor builders there are a lot of variables.

Even a mild street build Cobra is quick, I think the choice comes down to personal preference. Based on what's out there, the 427 SC is the most popular by wide margin.

All things being equal, I would bet a small block 289 would do better on a road course and a 427 better on the drag strip ... but on the street what really matters is what you like to look at and drive.
