Damn I miss that road. Used to take it weekly down into the Imperial Valley when we lived in Mission Viejo in the early 80s...around Palomar, through Warner Springs, up and over through Julian, than turn off at the bottom of the hill and cut south along the old stage route below Laguna and into Ocotello Wells. Did that for nearly a year. Big ol Maxima...with the straight six and rear wheel drive, and then later with a Z-28.

I s'pose the Ortega's a bit more crowded these days?
