Have any of you painted over the ceramic and does it stick for a long period of time?

Does black coating or paint stain easy? That is a concern. The silver cleans up nicely.

Hello Grubby:

First, DROP the paint can….. Can you post pics of your pipes? By “silver colored” are you referring to traditional Bright Ceramic Coating? Also, what is the “wear” you are referring to? Once I see what you have I can offer some suggestions for you.

In general, Bright Ceramic Coating does NOT WEAR. Over time the aluminum skin may oxidize slightly but this can be prevented by occasional polishing with a NON abrasive polish. We use and recommend Flitz liquid polish but there are many other aluminum polishes.

I suspect you have some heat related issues but I can’t say for sure until I see pics.
Thanks
