I am considering changing the color to semi gloss black. Is it better to send them out for a complete ceramic recoat or rough up and paint VHT or some other paint over the existing ceramic?

Have any of you painted over the ceramic and does it stick for a long period of time?

Does black coating or paint stain easy? That is a concern. The silver cleans up nicely.

John:

The success of VHT products depends on prep and cure cycles. It works for some but not most. If you want to change colors, which sounds like it may be advisable based on temps, I’d recommend High Temp Ceramic. The High Temp Ceramics are good for 2000F+ and generally more of a satin gloss level. The black is much smoother and more of a high sheen satin / semi gloss. We’ve run these in 4000hp + turbo applications with great success. Beyond black, there are about 10 other colors to choose from as well….

Thanks
