In speaking with Ron Butler, I learned that there are a number of different rotors and wheel seal sizes for these years. The critical factor is the wdith between the inner and outer bearings. The rotor has to be one with a 3/4 inch lip on the outside. Then, you have to have a machine shop machine the inside of the rotor to move the inner bearing 1/4 inch outwards so that it will fit on the MGB spindle. He did that for me in 1985.
Over the years, the manufacturing of the wheel seals has changed. Many manufacturers make the metal part wider and the rubber part narrower (probably saves cost). These will not fit over the MBG spindle spacer. You have to look for the National brand made to the original specs.
I am getting the car ready for the Midnite Run Rally on November 9. We will be in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night for 10 hours. I really do not want anything to break!
