Hello everyone,
Thanks for all of the great information.
I have decided against changing gear ratios.
I did make an carburetor upgrade that has made a big difference.
When I built the car ( 14 yrs ago ) I bought what I thought was a 750 cfm Holley Street Avenger. After removing the carb this summer for cleaning I discovered that it was actually a 650 cfm unit.
I went to the Holley website and plugged my engine specs into their interactive carb selector. The software recommended several units, all of which were 750 cfm.
I decided on a 750 cfm double pumper with a manual choke.
The engine runs much stronger now. I bet I gained 50hp.
Anyway, I now happy with what I have now and I'm going to leave things as they are.

Thanks again,
Roger
