Do Pent-Roof Valve Covers Come With Badges?
Dan
Computerworks' post in your link seems to me to support naked pentroofs as original. With the exception of the late-'67 reference, period cars photographed showed no badges. The rest are more modern references, which may have been added by later owners. Of course, Shelby could have begun adding them later in production. They changed a lot of stuff, why not the badges?

Yes, Shelby part numbers do appear on the badges. But they were used on the fenders of all the big block cars, so this fact alone doesn't necessarily support their use on valve covers. Also, I've never seen a NOS badge that did not have the pins, or have them broken off, so to my way of thinking they were originally intended for fender usage. Of course, neither of these facts rule out their use on valve covers by Shelby American, either. You mentioned having numerous period photos showing the badges. Can you dig up and post any of them?
