Not sure what you mean by "triangular", but are your links at a right angle or perpendicular to the axel? If that's the case, then yes, you need a panhard rod. But, if your links are angled as they come off your axel, you can probably do without the bar. Also if your car is on jackstands to the frame, with the panhard bar off, see if you can move the axel side to side. If you can, you def need a panhard bar.
