Joking aside, this is the first reference to that, that I`ve heard, but have seen what I think Dan is referring to on a coupe. Difficult to be sure but one can just make out the loop of the lock. Any references or pics? as I find this sort of thing intriguing.

No specific references come to mind but I have a fair collection of old magazines. Somebody did a list once and Cobras were covered in some way in something like 300+ publications 1962-67. The team lost at least one major race after somebody loaded the fuel tank with what was described as just dirt. I believe they showed a picture of the clogged filter element that was pulled out. I bought a 1967 GT500 once that wouldn't run long. Ran fine then quit. I pulled the fuel tank and dumped it out into a tub. There was literally a large soggy handful of flowers and grass clippings in the tank.
