I have the Smiths water temp gauge. The sending unit is screwed into my Edelbrock Victor jr. intake manifold by use of a double male nipple fitting. The fitting works great with the sending unit but is the wrong thread size or pattern for the manifold opening. I suspect the nipple is metric whereas the manifold is tapped for SAE. I have been told to simply use a lot of teflon tape on the manifold side. I wonder if there is a better solution.
