In the GTO I had a slight physical fit issue with the alternator and had to use a smaller ‘F-Body’ one – cheap from US. The other thing is I had to move the aircon compressor to where you’re contemplating now installing the alternator. I’m in Sydney (The Shire) and later today my engine will be removed from my car and you are more than welcome to borrow the alternator to see if it fits and to take the aircon compressor mounts to use as templates to make an alternator mount.
