It will have to be even higher than the AC in that picture. It will be almost directly above the rocker cover (where the coils are).

Thanks for the offer to borrow your alternator. I live on the northern beaches so its a bit far to pick up and drop off. I have made a cardboard alternator based on dimensions i could find on the net. I think i can fit it ok, but its just whether the 70 AMPS will be enough.

I am able to work out the draw of the lights and radio, but don't know how much to allow for LS engine management and fuel pump.
