While I appreciate the ingenuity of the idea Im not crazy about the fabric roll idea-the solid shields look very low key, I plan to put a layer of silicone cloth between the clamp that holds them onto the pipe and the pipe itself-this will (I think) offset the heat build up delta from the perforated ones. It will at least lower the conductive heat transfer, if they dont work I can always switch to the ones with the hole in them later. Since they will be black they arent that noticable anyway.
