I'll assume your power steering is by Armstrong (meaning your arms are the only power turning the steering wheel). I don't like it either, but unless you get a $2,000 upgrade and take the wrath of Club Cobra members that will think you are less of REAL cobra owner, you are pretty much stuck with hard steering. It helps to get the Cobra rolling a little before you try and turn the wheel.

Not sure what the nut being adjusted means, but vibration at speed is likely means your tires need balancing. I found a tire out of round as the cause in my case. Most of the time the tire balance will fix the problem.
