I wonder what the failure mechanism was. It is hard to imagine an axle snapping when you are just driving along, but I'm clueless about how this might happen. You mention the RPM increased, but wouldn't the limited slip keep the good axle pushing the Cobra? I lost a wheel bearing last summer and wondering if I should have inspected the axle a little closer. Do you have any pictures? Good luck pulling everything and getting it back together! It was a bit of a challenge for me, but with the help of Randy Thomas and my installer I was able to replace both wheel bearings.
