The first task will be to scan and digitize (and then photo correct if necessary) the slides. I recommend trying to find a used Nikon Coolscan 5000 with the slide loader. I am using a Coolscan 9000 (the difference it takes medium format film).

It's a tedious task. I got started real good but have been doing it on and off for over two years. I estimate I have somewhere between 25000 and 30000 images to scan. I've nearly filled a 5TB raid box (4TB usable).

Then once you have the images digitized you can use any DVD mastering program. Almost all of them have the ability to import stills.
