Yes, the cockpit cooling vents are a little useful; better than not having any venting at all down there, that's for sure and the air temp coming through seems like it's ambient temp. And no, I have not noticed any dirt or goo going through the fender well vents. I think that particular upgrade was only a couple of hundred bucks, and I view it as money well spent. It looks kind of cool, too.
