Thanks for looking at this.

On the shields, they can't hurt. As it turned out it was never an issue in my application...

Meantime I am pretty sure the car isn't going to be on the road this weekend...close...so I will be looking into suggestions.

Seems like someone out there in the parts business would recognize the designator on the hose.

Just to repeat in case you just started reading the thread the number on the hose is U262 49602...molded into the hose...
