Default AC MKIV steering shaft firewall bushing
I have a problem with the nylon bushing that supports the steering shaft through the firewall. The bushing is mounted in a metal plate and the metal plate is attached to the firewall/footwell box by four bolts. The bushing doesn't appear to be broken it's just loose and not attached to anything. This allows the steering wheel and column to move vertically approx., 1/2". Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it?
