Thanks for the reply. I found that the bore on the balancer was a lot worse than I first thought but the crank snout is in pretty good shape. Since this balancer was already balanced for my engine I decided to repair it. I bored it, machined a bushing with a flange on the outboard side from 4140PH, installed it in the balancer with a .0015 heat shrink fit, drilled and tapped through the flange with three 1/4-20 set screws just for some extra security and broached the key in exactly the same orientation as the original. I bored the bushing for a .0005 press fit but haven't installed it yet. Hopefully all will be ok now.
