The cooling system is very important, particularly in these cars if you go over 180 degrees in idle you will feel it in your legs very quickly.

iron heads don't bother me either...the problem is they have valve seats for leaded gas.....non-hardened, and cast iron guides that after 40 years will be worn. replacing guides will require seats to be cut and a complete valve job.

if they have already been redone it's a non issue
