Very state dependant. Most engineers that do icv will give a price indication up front. If they cant, then they probably dont have much experience in the process and you dont want to pay them to learn. Different states have different requirements for testing and paperwork so you really want to only go off the relevant one for your state. Do you work of the Vic system?

Get list and call around is best option as you will get other builders talking $500 to $5000. The engineer I started with in nsw said up to $10k and charged me $750 for the initial meeting! Needless to say I didn't stick with him, he was a crook.
