go buy a holden workshop manual and they recommend 7 to 15 psi
oil pressure at idle which is funny
anyway to test the gauge turn on ign then just earth out the wire at the sender if its an aftermarket gauge
get someone to look at yr gauge and it will go to high then quickly remove the wire from earth as if u leave it on too long u can burn gauge out
sometimes just cranking an engine may take afew minutes to get pressure
make sure battery is cranking super fast so maybe jump start it and remove spark plugs too as it helps
or like ive done in the past after trying for an hour or so just start the bloody thing
