Used copper exhaust gaskets (pretty sure they were Mr. Gasket). Raised side toward head so it would compress when snugged down. Also used hi temp copper RTV on both sides. So far (4,000 miles), no leaks. Also used copper RTV on j-pipe (header - collecter) gasket which is more leak prone, and it seals well also.
