Jay is spot on. They are breaking at the welds. When you look inside the bracket it is visible there wasn't enough weld material left to hold the screw. The first replacement I bought looked totally different.
Steve-O... as with any part of the Cobra's, personal preference comes into play. I LOVE the look of the heat shields. The added benefit of not scorching my short legs is also enjoyed.
