I've been using Mobile 1 grease for a number of years and have this problem with leaking ball and tie rod joints. I recently read that Mobile 1 (
synthetic) is particularly bad about breaking down and separating. I thought it may be a problem of
synthetic greases - although it appears that Valvoline Red is a petroleum based grease. I'm switching to something else and I think that is about all you can do.
