Agree with just cutting out the added pieces after verifying the wheelbase, but run a tape on the centers of the body wheel openings to be certain there will be no surprizes.
You could find out a lot by taking measurements off the body to see how close the frame is to fitting under it.
If it were not for the cold weather and the car being in storage would gladly take measurements.
