Having ridden motorcycles (Dirt and Road) for more than 50 years and all over the west from Alaska to Central American, I also thought it was time for something a little more comfortable and safer and it has worked out for me.
I "ride" it on the same kinds of roads and in the same kind of weather and for about the same distances in a day and it is almost as much fun.
I don't think you can ever be cured from riding a motorbike....but it helps.
