lippy,
To add to the above, be sure the hose is clearly labeled PCV, Emissions, SMOG or similar verbiage and install it so the wording can be easily read. This goes for the hose from the PCV valve to the carb base and the hose from the
oil filler / breather cap to the base of the air cleaner.
Any as RodKnock said, CHP inspection before BAR. The Santa Clara DMV provides a checklist if you do not have one already. I went to the Dublin CHP for the VIN verification, bring all your receipts.
Also keep in mind, the BAR referee is the one that will install the all important sticker with the SB-100 number on it. Think about where you want it, it has to be on a surface that is not removable … I was thinking of putting it in the trunk, but each spot I picked the inspector said the panel could be removed. So we settled on a location on top of the driver's side foot box, tucked up and out of the way. Some owners like to have the sticker right out in the open, matter of personal preference.
Be prepared and you will do just fine
