Remember pipe threads are interference fitted and tighten quite a bit as they are threaded in. As long as you are using some thread sealer, another couple of turns should be fine. If you really want it to go in farther then get a 3/8 pipe tap and take the manifold threads out a smidge, just don't go wild with the pipe tap.
