Is possible you have axles that are too long and bind in the 3rd member or the wrong spline on the axle ends. Remove the axles to start.Start with 3rd member, see if you can spin this throught the pinion end by hand, if yes, Check each axle for the bearing to spin on the shaft. If this is ok, Put the axle in loose, see if you can spin the axle engaged in the carrier. If yes tighten down 1 side and retest. I think the axle will lockup the carrier and the mounting bolts are tighten. If it's not this you have a bad 3rd member. Back lash is too tight, should be rocking of .004".012" of clearance between pinion gear and ring gear. It may be as simple and resetting up the 3rd member. Good luck Rick
