I run live sidepipes on my Dax Rush, and wouldn't swap them for the world. Plus they cost me a fortune. Regardless, If he was giving you a ticket, I'm sure a good words of "yes sir, thank you sir, I appreciate the ticket sir" always helps. Certainly more than arguing with the guy with the power to fine you. Best to sort it out after the fact when emotion can't get involved.
