I think the posters here are being overly critical re the security of these, as I doubt that they are any more prone to collapse from sideways pressure than ordinary jack stands and most of us petrol heads have survived many hours under cars on jack stands doing some very heavy spannering.

That said I would certainly add jack stands at the corners of the car to the mixture if I were to use them and crawl under the car.

Also - they are portable and ideal for confined workspace where four poster lifts are obviously not, so I rather like them and would certainly buy them but think they are too expensive. Might think of making a pair with a manual hydraulic pump some time though.
