Yes, I think she would have survived because of the design of the belt system. she hit the right side of her head on the bar as she was falling into the passenger seat after initial impact and bag deployment. She was slumped over into the passenger seat well below the cowl after the car went over. If she had a conventional race type harness I am pretty sure she would have been killed. I believe Audi and BMW have similar bar structures but both are slightly taller and possibly further rearward in the car So they might be better. Hard to tell because of the energy and dynamics in a crash. There was about a 75 foot drop down to some RR tracks and the guard rail was old fashioned pipe design about 4' tall so who knows what could have happened.
It really messed up her head, she won't even ride in an autox in the Cobra anymore and cannot tolerate any aggressive driving on my part even in the F-150. If we are on a highway with retaining walls close by for road construction she gets super nervous and closes her eyes, so guess who does all the highway driving on trips.
