Per my Ford FE Engine book all firing orders except for the 351s are what you gave above. Try to separate the 7 & 8 wires some as the high energy ignitions can cause an arch between them if one gets a weak place in the insulation.

I thought, that the correct firing-order for these
engines is 1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8....


However they can be wired to fire in a different order if you want to mess with it and I can see no really good reason to do so. The only ones that I ever saw that did that were on the 351s.
