Thanks Mike - I was thinking about using pine framing vertically, and attached to the tophat. Then screwing the sheets to them. I was also thinking about having the framing sit on the floor, and then the sheets can be 20mm or so off it - allows me to washed the floor.

I am thinking this is over kill - I like the way you have done it. I will just have to sweep up instead!

The bonus of having the sheets to the floor is that it will cut draughts from under the cladding too. I am going to insulate the walls, I might have to go with a thinner batt though.

My electrician mentioned running something like 50mm conduit so we have plenty of room to work with later...

Ps - thanks for the invitation too. We usually get over to Melbourne fairly regularly... It would be good to check your place out.
