My Midwest insurance is actually underwritten by American Modern. I think this can vary from State to State.

I had used American Collectors Insurance for years on a couple old cars. They wanted $800 +/- per year additional when I tried to add my Cobra to my policy. After recovering my wits and blurting out "are you crazy" I asked why would it be more than double the costs of my 66-427 Corvette for less covered value. She mumbled something about replacement and repair parts are harder to find for kit cars.

I said thank you - I'll take my business elsewhere, and did. Funny - I can pick up the phone and call ERA M-F and get anything I need for my car. I can do the same for some of my 66 Corvette but not for everything.
