I think this is a great idea. A lot of the arguments I hear around classing at the various events revolves around tyres. They have one of the biggest impacts on lap times. There is usually a lot of grumbling around R spec tyres and what is a street tyre and what's a race tyre. Taking away that factor and leveling up the playing field sounds like a good idea. We have enough disparity in other areas with motor choice, chassis design, driving skill and testicle size.
The KU36 is also a good all rounder tyre for those that don't want the extra expense of swapping race tyrs and road tyres. It may also give us some leverage with the local supplier to get some tyres at a decent price without having to resort to importing them privately.
