PS: In all seriousness my understanding (as a former member of the MRAA - Motorcycle Riders Association of Australia) the front plate can act like a guillotine in the event of an accident...
How ever my thoughts have always been once your off - you're in deep **** anyway, and a small guillotine is of no concern when compared to the potential other dangers, like traffic
