PS: In all seriousness my understanding (as a former member of the MRAA - Motorcycle Riders Association of Australia) the front plate can act like a guillotine in the event of an accident... 
How ever my thoughts have always been once your off - you're in deep **** anyway, and a small guillotine is of no concern when compared to the potential other dangers, like traffic  , kerbs  , or tension wire barricades  |
Front plates on bikes = bad for riders, ugly, and dangerous to pedestrians.
The front plates for bikes thing rears its head in the bike community every few years or so... because every few years some cranky b*stard either has a whinge about bikes escaping speeding fines while he gets done, or some do gooder thinks that bikers need protecting from themselves. The latter also occasionally likes to suggest things like seatbelts and airbag suits for bikes too
Anyway... I was wondering if you could argue that a front plate on a car like a cobra is unsafe to pedestrians, in the same way a front plate on a bike is? If you cant mount a plate on a flat surface, then there is an exposed edge that's kinda similar to a blunt knife on the front of your car. Maybe it could be pursued as a safety issue?
