Luck is on your side. Given how these cars are adapted over time by owners, it pays to never assume. My car was a little low on
oil and it was at the mark that would typically be a quart low on a typical dip stick. It has a Canton
oil pan with 8.5 quart capacity with the
oil cooler. So, I put a quart of oil in and it went way above the top mark. It appears that for this dip stick, the amount of oil that is required to fill between the two marks is about 1/2 quart of oil.
We should never assume anything with our cars and expect that standard does not apply. Go through the rest of the car carefully.
