Personally, I compared both Backdraft and SPF before finally buying the SPF.

Reason: the size of the backdraft didn't look right to me. Those extra couple of inches (added to the wheelbase and interior width) which neither my wife nor I needed. Quality of construction seemed to be comparable. BDR is definitely less $$$ to complete.

However, If you're a "big ole boy" and your passenger is also, then you'll appreciate the extra cabin room in the BDR.
